Massage Program Objective

To prepare students for the National and Florida State Certification and to enter the field of Therapeutic Massage with competency.

 

Program Description
 

This program teaches fundamental skills for therapeutic massage practice. Students will be taught approaches appropriate for different types of massage practices. Medical massage introduces the student to skills that effect musculoskeletal disorders with the additional training in assessment and exercise support. Eastern and Western therapeutic approaches are presented with an emphasis on facilitating the healing of mind body & soul in any clinical setting through the power of touch.

*During the course of the program the student is responsible for 60 hrs of massage clinic total throughout the course of study in a school supervised massage clinic. Students must attain CPR training before school clinic massage hours can be attained.


Program Length and schedule:

Program length is 8 months. Didactic classes will be held Monday through Thursdays 8:30-1:30 for two terms with a break between.  Clinic hours will be scheduled by the student in student clinic separately
